How to prepare your materials
Photos
Follow these easy steps to sort and organize all your photos:
- Photos can be any size up to 11" x 13". Larger sizes can be submitted for an additional charge.
- Go through all of your photos selecting the best and most meaningful photos. Choose photos that cover important moments or events like weddings, vacations, birthdays, holidays, etc.
- Determine how the photos should be presented, i.e. video segments. Segments can be focused on such things as childhood, school years, newly weds, anniversary. On a piece of paper, write down the number of photos for each segment, the title to be used for the segment and other applicable titles/captions and your music choice. See the attached Order Form.
Example:
Allison and Scott -- Our Life Together
Number of photos: 11
Music: CD, Sleepless in Seattle, Track 5
- Use a pencil to number each photo in the order you want it to appear. Mark the sequence number on the back of the photo. Use a sticky-note on the top of the photo to specify extra titles or captions.
- Place the photos for each section inside different envelopes or plastic Ziploc bags.
- And please remember to avoid out of focus photos or duplicate photos.
Slides
Follow these two easy steps to sort and organize all your slides:
- Follow steps above to sort through your slides.
- Please number multiple slide trays/carousels in the order they are to be used.
Music
- You can provide the background music of your choice.
- If you provide copyrighted music, you must acknowledge that the video is intended for non-commercial use. See the attached Order Form.
- SH Video Productions can create a soundtrack customized to your memories including: Jazz, Easy Listening, Classical, Romantic, Rock and New Age. See the attached Order Form.

- Protect and avoid bending the photos. Place the photos in Ziploc bags between cardboard or a hard cover folder.
- Pack the photos, slides and music (CDs) in a rigid cardboard box.
- Use bubble wrap or packing peanuts to protect your materials.
- Use a shipping service that provides package tracing (FedEx, UPS or Express Mail).
- To avoid our shipping & handling charges, if you have an account with a shipper include your account number, shipping option and/or label.
